The Data system of ship propulsive performance on NMRI Cloud achieves more advanced optimization of hull forms and ship operation by integrating towing tank test data, the results of numerical calculations, and ship performance data in actual seas. Although the system will continue to expand the functions for the digitization of the towing tank test, users can use the online observation system for towing tank test with secure data management at present.

The NMRI Cloud Ship Propulsion Performance Data System achieves more advanced optimization of hull forms and ship operation by integrating towing tank test data, the results of numerical calculations, and ship performance data in actual seas.
The construction of this system requires digitization of the towing tank test (development of a robot tank) to improve the precision and efficiency of the towing tank test which plays an important role in hull form design development. To digitize the test, NMRI developed an online observation system for the towing tank test with a secure data management function on NMRI Cloud. Up to now, engineers from shipyards and other institutions were invited to the test site for checking the test conditions and the data measurement, as well as for validation of the test results. The online observation system enables users to check online the test conditions and results and the chat function enables online confirmation of the data and requests for new tests, saving user companies the time previously required for trips to the test site and facilitating prompt decision-making.
Towing Tank Test Database App
The online observation system for the towing tank test is a service for users for whom NMRI conducts the towing tank test. They can watch live-streaming of the test.
Users can confirm and compare the test data using the NMRI Cloud web application, and transmit and receive data files and ask questions to the testers in real-time using the chat function.
